TE AROHA JOCKEY CLUB’S MEETING.

The first day’s races of the Te Aroha Jockey Club’s meeting took place on Wednesday in fine weather, there being a good attendance. The following were the results:— MAIDEN PLATE. —Azoff 1, Waihekau 2, Streamer 3. These were the only starters. Won by a head. HURDLE RACE. —Anna Lombard 1, Harkaway 2. These were the only starters. Won easily. JOCKEY CLUB HANDICAP. —Syren 1, Dardanus 2, Sweet Alice 3. Seven horses started. Won by half a length. HACK RACE. —Rosewood 1, Nulla Nulla 2, Dainty 3. Won by a length. DOMAIN HANDICAP. —Manapouri 1, Waihou 2, Dardanus 3. Five horses started. Won by half a length. FLYING HANDICAP. — Hikuai 1, Frontino 2, Waihekau 3. There were eight starers. Won by a length. SECOND DAY. The weather was fine for the second day. The results were:— TOURIST PLATE. —Manapouri 1, Rotoiti 2, Azoff 3. Dardanus and Keep Step were left at the post. Won easily. HURDLE RACE. — Fieramosca 1, Harkaway 2. These were the only starters. Harkaway fell at the last hurdle. TE AROHA CUP. —Pukenui 3, Syren 2, Sweet Alice 3. Also started: Leonette. Won by a length. HACK RACE. —Nulla Nulla 1, FieldMarshal 2. These were the only starters. Won easily. PUBLICANS’ PURSE. —Roto ti Frontino 2, Rosewood 3. Five horses started. Won by a length. ELECTRIC HANDICAP. — Lady French 1, Wauchope 2, Waihekau 3. Eight started. Won by a length.
