THE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS. The N.Z. Tennis Championships played at New Plymouth caused a lot interest, as all the cracks were competing. Some splendid play was shown, the finals especially being keenly fought out The results were: MEN’S SINGLES. Final. H. A. Parker beat T. R. Quill, 4 —6, 6—o, 6—4, 6—3. LADIES’ SINGLES. Semi-Final. Miss Nunnelly beat Miss Ward, 6 —l, 6— Final. Miss K. M. Nunnelly beat Miss L. Powdrell, 6 —4, 6 —4. MEN’S DOUBLES. Semi-Final. Dickie and Wallace beat Cox and H. Brown, 7—6, 6—2, 10—8. Fisher and Peacock won from Sw’ainson Bros, by default. Final. C. J. Dickie and A. G. Wallace beat J. C. Peacock and F. M. B. Fisher, 7— 2—6, 3—6, 6—3, 6—4. LADIES’ DOUBLES. Final. Misses K. M. Nunnelly and KellettBaker beat Misses L. Powdrell and Gray, 6—l, 6—B, 6—4. COMBINED DOUBLES. Final. H. A. Parker and Miss L. Powdrell beat F. M. B. Fisher and Miss K. M. Nunnelly, 6—3, I—6, 6 —2. Taranaki Province won the championship banner, scoring points, while Wellington scored 5%.
