CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB’S SPRING MEETING.

FIRST DAY. The New Zealand Cup meeting was opened by the Canterbury Jockey Club in fine weather, though a keen east wind made matters rather unpleasant towards the close of the afternoon. The course and its surroundings were in splendid order, and the attendance was large, including the vice-regal party. The totalisator investments amounted to £28,041.
