POLICE CHANGES.
From Wellington it is reported that the following police changes have been made consequent on the creation of the new northern police district. The headquarters of the new district are at Thames. Inspector Kiely is to be transferred from Wanganui to be inspector-in-charge of Thames. Inspector Wilson, of Greymouth, is to be transferred to Wanganui. Sub-Inspector Black, of Dunedin, is promoted to the rank of Inspector and transferred to Greymouth station. Sergt. Norwood, of Christchurch, is promoted to the rank of sub-inspector, and transferred to Dunedin. Constable Willis is promoted to be a sergeant and transferred from Motueka to Dunedin. Sergt. Johnston, of St. Albans, is promoted to be station sergeant, and transferred to Christchurch. Sergt. Donovan is transferred from Christchurch to St. Albans, and Sergt. Barrett, from Dunedin to Christchurch. A few constables are also being transferred. The new district will be known as the Thames Police District.
