BOWLING.

The bowling season is fast drawing to a close, and the end of the month will see most of the greens closed.

An inter-club match was played on Saturday between Remuera and Onehunga, six rinks aside. The games resulted in a win for Remuera who, with five successful rinks out of six, put up 157 points to their opponents 93. * * » * Rocky Nook sent a “star”-hunting team skipped by Bouskill to Carlton on Saturday, and at one time it seemed as though they might prove successful, especially during the earlier stages of the game. However, with the score at thirteen all, and Rocky Nook lying two, Wilson drove with his last bowl and picking off the jack carried it into the ditch, this giving Carlton four. This seemed to demoralise the Nook men, for the game ended 23 to 15 in favour of Carlton. With the end of the season so near at hand it looks as though the Edwin Stars will remain with Carlton to, in some degree, dispel the gloom of a bowlless winter. • • • • Devonport and Rocky Nook had a fourrink inter-club match on Saturday, the Shore men winning by eight points. Each club won on two rinks and all the games were rather one-sided, but it was the unexpected failure of Veale’s team, who were beaten by 28 to 10, which was the main factor in Devonport’s success. * * * * At Devonport Grattau : and Harvey challenged for the Buckles and easily defeated the holders, Miller and Eagleton, by 32 to 14.

Craig has won the final of the Rocky Nook First Year’s Players’ Championship, defeating Scott by 23 to 20. Kayes won the final of the Second Years’ Players.

Butler has carried off the Rocky Nook Handicap Singles, beating Fletcher by 21 to 11.

Mount Eden will play a three rink interclub match against Onehunga next Saturday.

11. 0. Brown has pulled off the final of the . Veterans’ Handicap at Mount Eden, easily beating Brimblecom.be by 23 to 6.
