Our Illustrations.

On our athletic page there will be found a picture of the Permanent Artillery Tug of-War Team, which proved successful in the championship contests at the Auckland Exhibition. The team is justly proud of the hardly earned title of champions of Auckland; Our theatrical picture is a portrait of Mr H. R Roberts as David Garrick, the character he will play on Friday evening next, when the popular actor will be tendered a complimentary benefit.

■ Full particulars of Mr J. A. Harding and Mr William Abbott will be found in the Licensed Victuallers’ columns, so we need only say here that the portraits are excellent likenesses of these going thorough sportsmen. We also give an excellent picture of Mr Dan McLeod’s game little filly, Miss Delaval—the winner of the Champagne Stakes and Criterion Handicap, and Mr G. P. Donnelly’s Oingo, the -winner of the Eden Handicap at the Ellerslie Meeting. A snapshot of the lawn shows Miss Donnelly with some friends.
