Our Illustrations.
Our photographs this week deal with the recent Wellington meeting, and five plates are reproduced from pictures taken by Mr R. J. Hardie Shaw, of Wellington. A fine view is given of the grandstand as it appeared during the progress of the Cup race, and the other pictures deal with the equine victors of the day. The horses selected for reproduction are Saracen (St. George— Fair Nell), winner of tbe 'Wellington Racing Club Handicap ; Lady Zetland (Perkin Warbeck II. —Forget-me-not), winner of the President’s Handicap -, King’s Bowman (Forester —Princess Royal), winner of the Telegraph Handicap; and Bavaria (Forerunnner —Star Water), winner of the Nursery Handicap Our next issue will contain a series of pictures taken at the recent Takapuna meeting.
