The prize presented by Mr S. Hordern for competition among the three-year-olds sold at his sale on the, 31st December, 1894, will be competed for under the following conditions: — Hordern- 4-year-old Stakes of 50 sovs (in harness). For then three-year-olds sold by Mr Hordern at his sale at Potter’s Paddock on the 31st December, 1894. Entrance, free. Distance, one mile. Flying start. Owners will require to notify the names of intending competitors on the day of general entry, viz., the 6th December, 1895. Maiden Pony Race Handicap of 25 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs out of the stake. For ponies 14 hands 2 inches and under that have never won an advertised race exceeding 10 sovs in value at time of entry. Nomination, 10s ; .acceptance, 15s. Distance, five furlongs. Maiden Trot Handicap of 25 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs out of the stake. For horses that have never won an advertised trotting race exceeding 25 sovs in value at time of entry. Nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 15s. Distance, one mile and a half. Pony Cup Handicap of 70 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs out of the stake. For ponies 14.2 and under. The winner of any race after the handicaps are declared to carry a penalty of 51b extra. Nomination, 30s ; acceptance, 40s. Distance, one mile. Auckland Trotting Cup of 120 sovs; second horse to receive 15 sovs, and third 5 sovs out of the stake. The winner of any trotting race after the handicaps are declared to receive a penalty of lOsees behinds its original start. Nomination, 2 sovs; acceptance, 2 sovs; and a final payment of 2 sovs at the post. Distance, two miles. Hurdle Handicap of 40 sovs; second horse to receive 5 sovs out of the stake. For ponies 14 hands 2 inches and under. Nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 1 sov. Distance, one mile and a half, over six flights of hurdles. Harness Trot Handicap of 40 sovs; second horse to receive 5 sovs out of the stake. The winner of any trotting race after the handicaps are declared to receive a penalty of lOsees, two or more 20secs behind its original start. Nomination, 20s; acceptance, 20s. Distance, t wo miles and a quarter. Christmas Handicap of 30 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs out of the stake. For ponies 14 hands 2 inches and under. The winner of the Cup to receive a penalty of 71bs, the Maiden or any other race 51bs ; penalties cumulative. Nomination, 15s; acceptance, 15s. Distance, five furlongs. Electric Trot Handicap of 35 sovs; second horse to receive 5 sovs out of the stake.
