Coursing.
Nominations for the Forbury Cup and St. Leger, to be run at the Dunedin. Plumpton Meeting on June 6th, 7th and Bth, will close on Wednesday, May 30th. Dr. Dickson has donated a 50 guinea cup to be competed for the next year’s Dunedin Challenge Stakes meeting. Mr J. Jerome has been appointed North Island representative for the National Coursing Club. The Witness writes it is just possible Lord Zetland will come up to the Auckland meeting. The payments in connection with the Auckland Coursing Club’s recent meeting were as follow :—Maiden Stakes : Mr J. Russell (White Star), /'z6 and cup presented by Mr McCready; Messrs Fenton and McEwin (Poacher), ; Mr Lynch (Papakura), ; Mr A. Beatty (Couranto) and Mr P. Quinlan (Pat), £z 5s each. For the All-aged Stakes: Mr Appleby (The Rambler), Mr Ligar (Rockbail). £-] ; Mr C. G. Gordon (Castaway), The total paid on the Maiden Stakes was 10s, and on the All-aged Stakes £ 24.
