HUNTING.
The Pakuranga Hunt Club met last Saturday at Otahuhu. A drag was laid through Camp Farm, Sylvia Park, and the properties of Messrs. Kay and Hunt. The obstacles to be negociated were post and rails, water, and good stiff walls, which were well negociated by the numerous followers. After a finish on Mr. Hunt’s property another drag was laid towards Mount Wellington over a pretty country. Thence, after another halt, a small drag was laid to Penrose over scoria country (which was a bit hard on the horses), and the fourth drag was laid over a line from Penrose to the Harp of Erin Hotel at Ellerslie. Each run was followed by a large assemblage on horseback, and there were also numerous spectators on wheels, among the latter being Colonel Patrick Boyle, aide-de-camp to His Excellency Lord Glasgow.
