Al ay 31. At the Races. The Aveather was lovely for the second day’s racing on Saturday, and the attendance was very large. There were many smart toilettes worn. The weather was lovely for golf on Wednesday, and there wa-s a large number present. Afternoon tea was provided by Airs J. Harold and Airs D’Arcy. Amongst those present were: Aliss Glasgow, Airs Cowper, Aliss N. Cowper, Airs Clay, Airs Alackay, Miss Montgomery Moore, Airs Paget,' Airs Young (Stratford), Airs Fairburn. Dymock, Airs Gill-Carey, Airs Von Haast, Mr and Airs Babbage, and others. Personal. Air, Airs and Miss Aiason, of Bulls, have been staying in Wanganui with relatives. Air Russell Grace, of Hawke’s Bay, has been in Wanganui recently. Airs-Ashcroft of Wanganui, is staying in Masterton with, her son, Rev. B. Ashcroft. Airs Meldrum, of Wanganui, has returned from her visit to Wellington. Airs. Lambert, of Belmont, Wanganuj, is spending some weeks in Auckland. Airs Pharazyn, of Wanganui, left this week for Auckland, where she intends to spend the winter. Aliss Merton, of Christchurch is staying in Wanganui with her sister, Airs Reeve.

Mrs Lomax, of Wanganui, left this week for a short visit' to Auckland. Mrs Barthorpe, of Hunterville, was in Wanganui for a short visit. Mr Lethbridge, of I’ahiatua, is staying in Wanganui. Mrs Young, of Stratford, is staying in Wanganui with tier sister Mrs Mackay.
