May 31. Skating Carnival. The Fancy Dress and Poster Skating Carnival, held in the Olympia Rink on Thursday, attracted a great crowd. It was organised by Alesdames Warburton, McKnight. Abraham, and Palmer, in aid of All Saints’ new church building fund. There were competitions of all sorts, \vhich created keen rivalry. Amongst the prize-winners were: Miss Sybil Abraham, Miss Jiekell, Miss O’Neill, Miss Millar. {Skaters and spectators iueluded the Rev. and Mr,s H. G. Aliss Ida Hayward, Wellington, has been staying with her parents, Air. and Mrs. Hayward, of Kairanga. Airs. Riley (Wellington) has come up tor some weeks to stay with her parents, Mr. and Airs. 11. K. Reed. Air. Rupert Reed (Wellington) is also here for a fortnight’s holiday'. Airs, and Aliss McKnight have returned from II untervillc. i Airs. C. Cox (Dannevirke) was a visitor to Palmerston this week. All’s. Innes, Airs. Alellsop, Airs. Aloore, Mrs. AV. L. Fitzherbert, Alisss Sybil Abraham. and Aliss Aloore went- to AVatigaluti on Friday last to play a golf match with a Wanganui team. AfrSs Roy McLennan (AVaituna) lias been visiting the Misses AlcLennan, College Street. Miss E. McLennan and her little niece, Alison Matheson, have returned from ■Napier. Air. and Airs. L. A. Abraham are away' in the AA’airarapa. Airs. J. P. Innes went up to AVanganui for the fades. Air and Mrs Alellsop were in AVanganui fast week.
