PAHIATUA.
November 9. An Outing. There was a general exodus from Pahiatua and surrounding districts on Friday for the Palmerston Show. The day was fine and many went by train and motor. Among those who left were: Mesdames Lilley, Burgess, Fox, Avery (2), Inglis, J. Tulloch, Crawford, Nichols, Bolton, J. Hewitt, Misses Burgess (2), Avery, Beard (2), Warren (3), Evans, Tulloch’ (3), Grub, Moore, Robinson, Hughes 12). Bowling, Last ■Saturday a large number of people assembled to witness the opening of the Bowling Club. Mr. i?. A. Burges®, president, in a short address, wished the club all success for the coming season. Mrs. Burgess then threw the jack across the green, and play commenced. The usual president’s v. vice-presidents’ match resulted in a win for the latter by six points. Afternoon tea was dispensed by Mrs. and the Misses Burgess. Among those who were there were: Mesdames Burgess, Dawson, O'Malley, Bobbie, Harkness, White, Scott, Davidson, N". Avery, Misses Burgess 13), Beard (2), Warren (2), Moore, Hughes- < 2J, Evans. Personal. Mrs. Dawson has returned from Masterton. Miss Mace (Masterton) is visiting Mrs. C'oom (Makuri). Airs. Crawford (Maugatainoka) is visiting Marton. Miss L. Warren has returned from Wellington. Aliss Mackie has returned to Kumeroa. Mr. and Mrs. Hare have returned from the Trentham races. Mrs. A. Nelson is visiting Wellington. Air. an<l Mrs. H. Lorneilous (Mangahoe) are spending a ‘holiday in Ch»:®t♦hure.lt.
