• . June'. 151 ft. Art Exhibition. An “At. Home.” and exhibition of sketches, the work of members, was held in connection with the Suter Art Society, at the Suter Art Gallery on Thursday afternoon. The lady members of the Society provided the afternoon, tea, and there was a large attendance of guests. Owing to the absence of several of the active memliers, from the Dominion the number of exhibitors was less than usual, but some excellent work was displayed on the screens. Mrs. Topliss, Aliss Nina Jones, Aliss Sadd, Miss E. C. Harris, and Mr. J. H. Nicholson were the local exhibitors, and Mr. Olivant of Hastings, showed n few dainty sketches in water colours. tea was provided by Miss. Nina Jone»; assisted by Aliss J. Tomlinson, Miss G. Bisley, Aliases Gibbs, Aliss Cuthbertson, Aliss Blackett, Miss G. Harley, Miss Blechynden. Among others present were: Airs. J. H. Nicholson, Mrs. Topliss, Mrs. and Miss Gibbs, Airs. W. S. Lucas,

Harley, Miss Harris, Mrs. Hamilton Smith, Mrs. Gibbs, Mrs. Johnston, Miss Lorimer, Mrs. Broad, Mrs. Bett, Mrs. Cuthbertson, Mrs. and Miss Atkinson. Personal. Mr. and Mrs. Napier, of Dunedin, are paying a short visit to Nelson. Mr. J. H. Cock is away in Wellington. Lieut. H. E. Kennick, of the Terar Noya, who has been in Nelson for a few days, on Admiralty survey work, has left for Pieton. Mrs. Travers has returned from Wellington. Mrs. Renwiek and Mr. T. Renwiek have also returned from a visit to Wellington. - . -I. > Mr. W. S. Lucas is away in the North Island. Miss Iva Hudson (Tapawera) is the guest of Mrs. Tomlinson.
