May 11. Dance. Mrs. Snodgrass gave a delightful little dance and musical evening last week. Airs. Didsbury sang several times, also Drs. Ziele and Harvay. Airs. Snodgrass wore an old rose frock with bands of embroidery the same colour; Aliss L. Snodgrass, dainty white net frock; Airs. Hawkins, floral chiffon; Airs. Ziele, blaek, tunic of emerald green; Airs. Didsbury, blue; Airs. Henley, blaek embroidered ninon; Airs. Hermann von Dadelszen, pale blue, silver embroidery; Airs. Kettle, grey sequin frock; Aliss Crosse, emerald green; Aliss Lusk, mauve satin, pale blue ninon overdress; Aliss Hindmarsh, white.

Concert. Aliss Thelma Petersen’s concert on Thursday night was a marked success. She has a very beautiful contralto voice. She is giving these concerts with the object of raising enough money to enable her to go Home and have her voice properly trained. The programme was supplemented by local talent, and was altogether very enjoyable. Those who assisted were: Airs. Lehmann, Miss Bear, and Alessrs. Cecil and (Stanley Prime, McClurg, AleFarlanc, and Weber. Aliss Petersen’s accompaniments were played by Mr. C. L. N. Petersen. Golf. A number of ladies went out to the links on Tuesday, but there was no match, it being only a practice day. On Thursday the Ladies’ Club played a handicap stroke match. Among the players were: Mrs. Bernau, Airs. Jardine, Mrs. T. 0. Afoore, Mrs. A. O. Russell, Mrs. Gould, Mrs. Russell Duncan, Alias Kettle, Miss Clark, Aliss Davis, Alisa C. Hindnurrsh, Miss Dean.

Personal. Airs. Hamlin has returned home aftet spending several weeks in Auckland. Airs. Davis Canning, of Oakburn, is staying in Napier. Mrs. G. W. Russell and Miss Russell, of Auckland, arrived from Taupo last week, and are staying with Airs. Currie, Bluff Hill. Aliss Handmarsh is the guest of Airs. O. C. Cooper (Masterton). Air. and .Hrs. George Rhodes, of Meadowbank, Christchurch, are visiting in Hawke’s Bay.
