November 3. A Social. A social evening was arranged by the Tieton Brass Band to entertain all those who had assisted them with the bazaar in aid of the uniform fund. The affair was hold on Thursday evening in the Foresters’ Hall, and was a most enjoyable function. Dancing was the order of the evening. Mrs. Nicol, Misses Wheatley, and Maealister, and Messrs. Mr. Kiddel! made the presentation on ladialf of the band. Anniversary Day. Anniversary Day was a great occasion in Picton. A huge train load of excursionists came down from Blenheim. Some (the Presbyterians) to hold their annual picnic in EhmiiiV \ alley, ami others to hire launches and go out on the Sound to fish or picnic as the ease might be. Cinderella Dance. The la-t of the serie- was held on Wednesday. and was a highly successful function. Tripe left on Thursday for a tour in the North Island. Aliss Decima Tripe will remain in Picton for a week ,or two visit ing friends. Mr. and Mrs. Radcliffe. Seddon, were in Picton this week visiting Alisa Western at Mount Pleasant. Airs, and Ali-s Turner have been spending a few days with Airs. Baillie at the Bank of New Zealand previous to returning to ••Ravenseliffo,” Queen Charlotte Sound. Airs. Huhne, Blenheim, has been staying with Mrs. Lucena for a few days. Mr. and Airs. R. McCallum were in Picton for a couple of days this week. The Rev. J. Dickson and Airs. Dickson have gone to spend a month's holiday with friends in Otago.
