October 2ft. Bowling. On Wednesday afternoon the Blen®°wling Club opened their season. Tlie weather was not of the best, so the attendance of members and friends was not very large. A band was in'attendance, and afternoon tea was on the lawn- The president (Air. Falconer) made a short speech, and declared the season opened. Amongst” those present were:—Airs. C. Mills, cream Shantung costume, cream Leghorn hat green grapes and green grass: Mrs. R. Adams, brown •costume, white hat with blue flowers; Airs. Ri McCallum, navy costume, white fill's and hat, with shaded roses; Mrs. Bull, mole velvet dress, shaded straw hat wtih roses; Airs. Innes, navy costume, hat with roses; Airs. Nortlicroft, dark green striped costume, blue hat with wings; Mrs. Skinner, navy, costume,' black toque, with gold trimmings; Mrs. Wicks, navy costume, purple hat; Airs. Redwood, black costume, black hat with emerald green wings; Airs, Hylton, black and white costume, white Leghorn hat, with black; Airs. Broughton, brown costume, burnt straw hat with roses; Airs. Bennett, brown tweed.costume, black hat; Misses L. Skinner, brown costume, black velvet hat; Al. Bell, dark green striped costume, hat to match; J. Bell, pale green costume, purple hat: A. Neville, navy- ’costume, navy hat with searf; F. Skinner, black and white striped costume, mauve hat; D. Horton, dark striped costume, black Leghorn hat; Al. 'Whitwell (Nelson), pale green dress piped with darker shade of green, brown, hat; Messrs. McCallum, C. Alills, Churchward, Wicks, Riddell (Picton), Hart, Hylton, Northeroft, Broughton, Dr. Adams. Tennis. There was a fair attendance at the •Marlborough Lawn Tennis Club last Saturday afternoon, when Airs. K. Adams and Aliases Bell (2) provided a. dainty tea. Some of those present were: —Airs.. A- M*-Callum (president) declared the Chib* open. Airs. A. AlcCallum' provided n delicious afternoon tea, Which was dispensed by Alias McCallum and friends. Some of those present were’: ’’Mrs. R. Hart. 31cLachlan, Feudal!, and Dr. Anderson. Personal. Mr. and Mrs. If. Redwood (Napier) are the guests of Mrs. \V. tlouston, “St. Andrew’s.” ■Rr. and Mrs. J. Bell, accompanied by Misses E. and J. Bell, returned during the week from a lengthy trip to the Old Country. Mrs. .Lindsay and Miss Lindsay, who have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Adams, “Langley Dale,” have returned to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. J. Brock have gone to Christ*church for a holiday. Mr. and Mrs. J. Huddleston (Tiinaiu) are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Huddleston, “Spi inglands.” * • Mrs. Light band (Christchurch) is the guest of Mrs. Revell, Hawketehawstreet. Miss 1 npihart left for Wellington on Tuesday. Mrs. S. Flora nee is viisiting friends in Nelson.
