HASTINGS.

March 23rd. This week the weather has been very warm, and as we have not had rain for some weeks now the roads are extremely dusty. The winter goods are all dsplayed in the shop windows, but at present one does not feel inclined to don winter costumes during such sunshiny days. Personal. Mrs. and Miss Smith (Canterbury), left by express on Monday for the South. Misses Cowper (Taranaki), who have been holiday-making in Hastings for some weeks, left per express on Wednesday.

SHEILA.
