There really is no news to send you this week; the only entertaining done in Christchurch having been the usual family gatherings for Christmas and New Year, and numbers of our hostesses are still out of town. At the Theatre. At the Theatre Royal the Katherine Gray Company a,re playing to crowded houses nightly. Their season closes tomorrow. C. N. Grigg at Longbeach. Air., Mrs., and the Misses Holmes (Huntly) are spending the holidays in Dunedin, and the Cold Lakes district. Aliss Reeves (Christchurch) is visiting friends in the North Island. Air. and Mrs. Btbderiek (Christchurch) are spending the holidays in Invercargill. Aliss Af. Aliss Park has returned to Christchurch from her visit to Dunedin. Air. and Airs. Walter Moore and the Alisses Moore have been spending the holidays at Temuka. The Alisses Burton have returned to ■Christchurch from Taranaki. Mrs. George AVestenra (Christchurch), is staying at Waimate, the guest of Airs. Paul Studholme.

The Revd. C. H. and Airs. Moreland (Christchurch), are spending the vacation on the West Coast. Airs. Neave “Okeover” (Rieearton), is visiting Airs. Percy Acton-Adams at Clyde Park, Southland. Mr. and Mrs. Walter .Stringer have
