January 5. Wedding Reception. A number of guests were entertained at a reception in the picturesque Vicarage grounds by the Rev. J. P. Kempthorno and Mrs. Kempthorne on the occasion of their daughter Hilda’s marriage to the Rev. O. J. Kimberley. The 'bride’s mother wore a handsome gown of grey silk, with black hat and scarf of blaek Spanish lace, and her beautiful bouquet was of scarlet malmaison carnations; Miss Boor, aunt of the bride, wore reseda green voile, hat with blue and pink hydrangea, and her bouquet was composed of the same flowers; Mrs. Richmond, black silk, floral toque; Miss Rlernnond, floral chiffon over pale pink silk, green hat with forget-me-nots; Mrs. Francis Richmond, heliotrope striped ninon, hat of the same shade; Mrs. Mules, “black chiffon taffeta, bonnet with red and white roses, white lace shoulder scarf; Miss Mules, pink French muslin, lace hat with roses; Miss Nina Jones, pink and white flowered muslin; Mrs. Hunter-Brown; Mrs. Chatterton (Gisborne), brown Shantung, brown hat; Mrs. Raker,’ grey cloth, black and white
bonnet; Miss Grace Baker, soft white •silk; '.Mrs. J. Maunsell (Carterton), white broiderie anglaise, blaek lace hat with clusters of pink roses; Mrs. Maginnity, black chiffon over blaek silk, 'black toque; Misses Maginnity, white muslin froeks; Aire. Tomlinson, blaek silk; Miss Tomlinson; Mrs. Heaps, black ninon, mauve bonnet; Mrs. Easteott, white muslin, black chip hat. Personal.
The Bishop of Wellington And Mrs. Wallis, who have been slaying at Bishopdale, have returned to Wellington. Mr. and* Mrs. H. O. Ledger and Miss Joy Ledger have returned from their visit to England
Sir E. O. Grbhes, who has been spending a short holiday in Nelson, has returned to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Edwards have 'been staying in Marlborough with Mrs. George Watts.
Mr. and Aire. C. H. Clark and Miss Mary Clark have returned from their visit to Blenheim. Mrs. Harold Moore (Waimatc) is the guest of Mrs. Ambrose Moore.
Mr. and Mrs. <«'. Ho'by arc away In Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Burnes have been spending the holidays in Pelorus Sound.
