WANGANUI.
January 7. Tennis Party. On New Year’s Eve Air. and Airs. H. Lethbridge (Turakina) gave a very enjoyable tennis party, and dance in the evening. Amongst those present were:—• Air. and Airs. J. Anderson, Air. and Airs. Palmer. Mr. and Mrs. G. Lethbridge, Mr. and Airs. G. Marshall, Aliss Anderson, Aliss Smith, Aliss Humphreys, and others. New Year’s Day was glorious weather. The town was quite deserted, but the up-river steamers and Castleclift’ were well patronised. There were also several small private picnics in oillaunches. Afternoon Tea. On Thursday afternoon Airs. H. Sarjeant gave a very enjoyable afternoon tea in honour of Airs, and Aliss Kennedy, of "Wellington, who are spending some weeks in Wanganui. Amongst those present were: Air. and Airs. Dunn, Airs. Pharazyn, Airs. A. Lewis, Airs. Rochfort (Eltham), Air. and Airs. Stevenson, Rev. J. and Airs. Jacob, Aliss Westerna (Christchurch), Airs. Janisch (Auckland), Airs, and Aliss Kennedy (Wellington), Airs. Ballance, Airs. Darley ,Alrs. and Aliss Aloore, Airs. D’Arcy, Airs. Krull, Aliss Krull, Aliss Thompson (Sydney), Airs. Lomax, Airs. Christie, Dr. Wilson, Airs. Stewart, Aliss Stewart, Alls. Colin Campbell, Airs. Wall, and others.
Personal. Airs, and Aliss Kennedy, of Wellington, are spending some weeks in AVanganui.
Aliss Williams, of Sydney, is at present staying in Wanganui. Mr. and Airs. Leslie Peek, of Wanganui, have returned from their visit to Auckland. Aliss W’estenra, of Christchurch, is the guest of Airs. Jacob, in Wanganui. Airs. Rochfort, of Eltham, is staying in Wanganui with her mother. Airs. A. Lewis.
Air. and Airs. Pattle-Izett, of Wanganui, are spending some weeks in Australia.
Dr. and Mrs. Carle, of Wanganui, are staying in Wellington. Miss Maling, of Wanganui, is spending her holidays in Australia, Mr. and Mrs. Crombie, of Wanganui, are staying with friends in the North. Mrs. Gill-Carey, of Wanganui, is staying in Hawera with friends. Miss Northcote, of Wanganui, is spending some weeks in the South. Mrs. Janisch, of Auckland, is spending some weeks in Wanganui. Miss McDonald, of Wanganui, is spending her holidays in the South.
