June 25. Babies' Birthday Party. A babies’ birthday party was given by Mrs. C. C. Buckland on Monday afternoon for her two-year-old son. It was a pretty sight to see all the mites playing games and enjoying themselves generally. Mrs. Buckland was wearing a navy blue silk with creme lace yoke and sleeves outlined with pale green velvet; Mrs. F. Ross, wearing brown eoat and skirt and brown hat, trimmed with mauve, and her two children. Gwen and John; Mrs. Crowther, green coat and skirt and mauve hat. and her two little girls; Mrs. Cowper, wearing grey tweed coat ami skirt and amethyst hat, trimmed with silk to match, and her little girl. Joan: Mrs. C. Peake, wearing brown coat and skirt, and brown hat. with little Fanny; Mrs. A. 11. Nieoll. wearing long tweed coat and skirt, and a “Burberry” tweed hat. with her little boy, Warrick; Mrs. Shortt, wearing a navy blue eoat and skirt, and hat to match, and her little girl; Mrs. Norman Banks, wearing a tweed coat and skirt and pink hat. and her three children, Douglas, Thelma and the wee baby. After the Wedding. On Thursday evening, after the wedding of Miss Payze and Mr Sefton Banks, Mrs. Banks entertained a few young people out at “Gwynnelands” at an impromptu dance. One of the drawingrooms was cleared for daneing, and the other was used for the lookers - on; supper was laid in the dining-room. Mrs. Banks was wearing a black chiffon taffeta, trimmed with jetted net and silk lace insertion; Miss Banks, creme evening dress; Mrs. Payze. black satin with creme lace yoke; Mrs. Dore, black silk skirt, white silk blouse: Miss Dore, creme evening dress; Mrs. MeCaw (Matamata), creme gown; Mrs. Norman Banks, reseda green taffeta, trimmed with velvet, and creme lace yoke; Mrs. Nelson Banks, creme silk; Miss Roberts, pale pink muslin, trimmed with silk lace insertion; Miss Williams, white silk; Miss Richardson. black chiffon taffeta, frock, white tucked net yoke: Miss B. Taylor creme silk froek; Myra Taylor, white muslin frock; Miss Pickering, black chiffon taffeta evening dress; Miss N. Pickering, white muslin; Miss Cussen, creme frock. Mrs. Dove and Mr. Warren sang several times during the evening, the music be-

ing much appreciated.
