Rev. Stanislaus Mahoney on Easter Monday, and will continue every evening for a week. A strong committee of ladies and gentlemen are in charge of the various stalls, and a tea kiosk is advantageously situated on the Laleony. A feature of the bazaar is the dancing of over one hundred performers, under Signor Borzoni. Bowling. A bowling tournament was played during the Easter holidays, and there were it. less than nine visiting clubs taking part, some of the clubs being represented by four rinks. The most successful club was the Maitai. which played 15 games and only 1 >st three. The different clubs playing were: —Wellington, Nelson, Thorndon. Maitai. Picton. Riversuale, Takaka, Blenheim, and Motueka. Afternoon tea was provided on the Nelson green on different days by Mrs. 11. O. Ledger. Mrs. W. Squires. Sirs. £. •*• Cresswell. and Mrs. ;l)r.) Lucas, and on the Maitai green by Mrs. W. s. Mears and by Mrs. J. MeEachen. A Dance. The Old Boys' football tournament for the Derenish Shield was also played in Nelson, and the shield was finally won by the Nelsonians, who defeated the Wellington College Old Boys by 23 to nil, and the Christchurch High School Old Boys by 11 to nil. Ti.e various teams were entertained at an enjovable dance given in the Nelson College Assembly Hall by Mr. H. L. Fowler, principal of the College, and Mrs. Fowler. Sirs. Fowler received her guests in a handsome Empire gown of black merveilleux satin veiled with black ninon de soie. Among others present were:— Mrs. C. H. Ledger, white satin Empire gown: Miss V. Leg gatt. becoming black Empire frock: Mrs. K. >. Robison; Mrs. Gibbs, white chiffon over silk, with handsome lace; Misses Clark, deep pink -ilk with ecru net: Misses F. Maginity. Tomlinson, Sclanders. G. Harley. Trolove. Fell, and Stuart-Forbes < Wellington!. Afternoon Tea. Mrs. de Castro gave a large and enjoyable afternoon tea at her residen *, Mount-street, on the day preceding her daughter's welding. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Blyth Auckland) are staying in Nelson. Mr-, and Miss Airey (Cable Bay! have left for their new home in Melbourne. Miss E. Edwards has returned from her stay in the North Island.
