HASTINGS.

December 29. The Holidays. There has been quite an exodus of Hastings folk for the holidays. Some have gone camping, others are visiting the larger centres, and consequently there is very little social news this week. The various hostesses entertained in several small ways last week—Lady Russell, Mesdames Lowry, Stead, Perry, Williams, and Hindmarsh. Mrs. J. Miller has a number of musical people staying with her from Wellington, and is entertaining them right royally. Mrs. Pharazan entertained several friends at a dinner last’ week. Mrs. Hurley entertained a number of young people at the Bank last Thursday evening. Charades, games, musie and several competitions were indulged in, and handsome prizes were presented. Personal. Mr. and Mrs. G. Beamish and Mr. E. Beamish have returned home.

Mr. Beamish is visiting Auckland. Miss Barcroft is the guest of Mrs. G. Beamish. Mr. Cluirtia ia one of a house party at Whana-Whana. Miss Mason has gone to Aswkland. Miss t'ltssold (Owtertonry) is visiting Hastings. Miss Little (Kaikora) is visiting Havelock. SHEBA.
