HAWERA, October 29.

Summer Sport.

Hawera has been very quiet lately. The golf season is practically closed, except for a few keen enthusiasts, and the tennis and croquet lawns are not yet opened. The annual meeting of the Hawera Tennis and Croquet Club was held on October 22nd, at which Mr. Dingle was re-elected president, and Messrs. Bell and Bright, joint secretaries. Weather permitting, it is expected the courts will be opened on November 9.

Personal. Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Lloyd and family, Who have come to live in Hawera, arrived from Woodville last week.

Mr. Caplen has returned from a holiday spent in Auckland and Rotorua.

Mr. and Mrs. B. Meek have returned to Auckland.

Mr. Wiggins, who has been relieving in the Bank of New Zealand here, has gone

to Waitara.
