STRATFORD.
October 16. '(Euchre Party. Mrs. Glasgow gave a very enjoyable euchre party last Friday afternoon. The hostess received her guests in a black crepe de chine trimmed with cream lace; and Mrs. Hogg wore a pale blue eilk with black velvet. Among those present I noticed: Mrs. Young, striped blue and green coat and skirt, hat to match; Mrs. Fookes, gobelin blue costume; Mrs. Paget, green coat and skirt, cerise hat with black; Mrs. Crawshaw, crey crepe de chine with black hat; Mrs. Munro, brown dress, brown hat trimmed with hydrangeas; Mrs. Wake, violet coat and skirt, violet hat; Mrs. Johnston, brown dress, brown hat with pink; Mrs. Stubbs, tweed coat and ekirt; Mrs. Richards, reseda green coat and skirt, mole hat with pale blue; Mrs Budge, green coat and skirt, hat to match; Mrs. Porritt, black; Miss Clynes, brown coat and skirt, brown hat; Miss Bennett, black dress relieved with white, black hat. Afternoon tea was served in the dining-room, the table being beautifully decorated with cherry blossoms and pink ixias. Personal. Mrs. Hogg, of Midhirst, has been staying in town with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Glasgow. Miss Hawken is spending her holiday with her people in Whangarei. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bayly, of Wanganui, were the guests of Mrs. Wake last week. Mrs. Hugh Good is away on a visit to friends in Auckland.
