October 15. On the Links. The weather was glorious on Saturday, when mixed foursomes were played on the Belmont links for prizes presented by Mr. Colin Campbell. Mr. Gonville Saunders and Miss Wilford were the fortunate couple, the former being presented with a silver match box. Miss Wilford’s prize was a silver and enamel Liberty clock. Mrs. Brookfield and Mr. Stevenson won the booby prizes. Amongst the spectators were: Mrs Barnieoat, in a navy blue serge coat and skirt with black military braid on it, fine black straw toque with black tulle swathed round it and band of emerald green velvet; Miss Moore, navy blue serge tailor-made coat and skirt, white muslin and lace vest, cream straw hat with cream silk rosette; Miss Gresson, navy blue coat and skirt, cream and navy floral silk blouse, straw hat with scarf; Mrs. A. Lewis, green tweed coat and skirt, cream silk blouse, black hat with chiffon and black wings; Mirs. Paterson, grey and brown striped tweed coat and skirt, cream tucked blouse, burnt straw hat with brown silk swathed on it and wreath of brown and old rose banksia roses; Mrs. Izett, dark tweed coat and skirt with black military braid outlining the slashed coat, cream vest, long rose pink silk scarf, black hat with tulle and black wings; Mirs. Montgomerie, black skirt, long black silk coat with ornamental braid, cream lace vest, black bonnet with black and white aigrette; Mrs. Rawson, green tweed coat and skirt, green cloth collar and revers, cream blouse with green tie, navy blue hat with blue shaded roses and tulle; Mrs. H. Bayley, dark heliotrope cloth coat and skirt, cream straw hat with pink flowers and foliage; Mrs. Colin Campbell, golden brown striped tweed coat and skirt, brown and cream striped blouse, Burberry hat with wings. Amongst the players were: Mrs. Izard, Mrs. Brookfield, Mrs. D’Arcy, Mrs. Meldrum, Mrs. Good, Miss Cave, Miss Wilford, Misses Nixon (2), Cowper (2), Dymock, Knapp, Mrs. Imlay Saunders, Mrs. Lomax, Mrs. Lomas, Mrs. Harold, Miss Parsons, Miss Stanford, Miss Duigan, Mrs. Wall, Misses Anderson (2), Messrs. Meldrum, D’Arcy, Good, Butterworth, Lewis, Allison, Izard, Saunders, Brown, Jones (2), Harold, Lomas, Brookfield, Stevenson, Bayley, Drs. Earle and Millar. Personal. Miss Moore, of Hawcra, is the guest of Miss Norris in Wanganui. Mrs. Montgomerie, of Wanganui, has returned from her visit to Wellington. Miss H. Anderson, of Wanganui, is staying with friends in the Rangitikei district. Mr. Nearne, of Wanganui, has returned from his visit to Hawke’s Bay, where he was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Williams. Mrs. Wootten, of Rangitikei, is staying in Wanganui. Mr. H. F. Christie, of Wanganui, has returned from his visit to Wellington. Mrs. and the Misses Inglis, of Hawke’s Bay, who have been staying in Wanganui, have returned to their home.
