For years a little girl had been in the habit every morning of saying a prayer in verse, two lines of which were: — “All through the day, I humbly pray, Be Thou my Guard and Guide.” One day when she had finished, her aunt was electrified by the child exclaiming, “Aunt Emma, that is the most foolish prayer I ever heard? What do I want a garden guide for?”
