ATHLETICS.
The N.Z. Marathon. The Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club has received splendid entries for the New Zealand Marathon race and other events to be held on Saturday week, March 6, which' is decidedly encouraging, and points to a revival of amateur athletics in Auckland, and the coming meeting should be a great success. The entries are not quite complete, as some Southern clubs only posted theirs oil Saturday. The following entries were received up to Saturday evening, the total being 178, which includes 36 for 'the Marathon race. Nev Zealand Marathon: —C. Opie. E. W.
