BeaurepaiTe Wins Championship. Bcaurepaire, the Melbourne swimmer, who recently visited England, won the mile championship of Victoria last week in 25 min 23 sec, lowering the State record.
Wellington Club's Carnival. At the Wellington Swimming Club’s car* nival on Saturday the principal events resulted as follows :=— SOYds Ladies’ Bracelet.—Mawby 1. Bridge 2 Kivell 3. Won by a length. Time, 29 3-ss. IGOYds President’s Handicap.—Ashford 1, McLeod 2, Johnstone 3. A good race; won by a touch. Time, 1.12 2-5. 44OYds Handicap.—First heat: Arthur, 925, 1; Watson, 925, 2; Delaney, 150 s, 3. Time, 7.50 3-5. Second heat: R. Healy, scratch, 1; Ward, 20s, 2; Freyberg, Bs, 3. Time, 6.2. The second heat provided a great race, the first two men swimming abreast the whole way to the last length, the champion getting home by a touch, with Freyberg about a foot away. Healy’s time was remarkably good, and the best he has yet put up, beating hls> record at Tlmaru a few days ago by 6 2-ss.
