Dear Bee, October 30. THE HIGH SCHOOL ANNUAL SPORTS took place last Saturday afternoon in toe presence of a large gathering of friends and relatives of the pupils. Amongst others present were: Mrs. Vernon, wearing a green Eton coat and skirt, with collar and cuffs of a darker shade of green velvet, white hat with black silk bows; Miss Mills, dark navy coat and skirt, burnt straw hat with cream and Ibrown silk; Mrs. Cohen, in navy blue coat and skirt, white fur. electric green ihat with shaded fawn and green feather: Miss O’Brien, brown cloth coat and skirt, white fox fur, cream hat with fawn tulle and pink flowers; Mrs. Gardiner, black toilette, with silk coat, black bonnet: (Miss Gardiner, green Eton costume, hat with green silk bows and pink roses; Miss —■ Gardiner, navy blue 'Eton coat and skirt, blue hat with blue wings; Miss —■ Gardiner, navy Eton costume, hat with brown silk trimming; Mrs. McKnight, cornflour blue linen coat and skirt, hat of same shade, with many coloured sweet, peas; W rs. Russell, of Fitzherbert, gave AN “AT HOME’’ yesterday afternoon. The day was beautifully fine for the drive out into the country. Included among the guests were: The Hon. Kathleen I’lunket. Mrs Waterfield, Mrs Gohen, Mrs and Miss Monro. Mrs Lionel Abraham, Mrs R. S. Abraham, and the Misses Abraham. Miss Reed (Wellington), the Misses Wilson (Bulls), Mrs Homan, Mrs Harold Cooper, Mrs Tripe, Mrs E. W. Hitchings (Feilding), Mrs F. S. Mcßae, Mrs W. L. Fitzherbert, Mrs C. E. Waldegrave aud Miss Waldegrave, Mrs and Miss Warburton, the Misses McLennan. Mrs and Miss Hewitt. Mrs F. Hewitt, and many others. PERSONAL NOTES. Miss Margaret Waldegrave has gone to Napier for a short stay. Dr. and Mrs Peach were visitors to Wellington for a few days last week. Mrs Bailey (Wanganui) and Mrs Wallace (New Plymouth) are the guests of Mrs A. Rennell. Mrs Mason (Wanganui) is the guest of Mrs McKnight. Mrs F. Leckie, of Wellington, who has been spending some weeks with her mother, Mrs Taplin, Palmerston, has returned home. Mrs Warburton lias returned from a trip to Dunedin and Wellington. VIOLET.
