STRATFORD.

Dear Bee, July 24. Mr and Mrs F. W. Wake gave a most enjoyable dance in the old Masonic Hall, in honour of their eldest daughter, Miss Nina Wake, who made her debut. Mrs Wake looked charming in a lovely costume of black net and velvet over white silk; Miss Wake very sweet in white silk taffeta, bodice relieved with sequine. Guests came from as far south us Wanganui for the event. The hall was charmingly deeorated with flags and Indian curtains; half the supper room was most tastefully arranged as a drawingroom. The supper table was adorned with lovely blooms of narcissi, sent from Hawera and Manutahi. Among the guests were: Mr and Mrs Grant, Mr and Mrs Kimbell, Mr and Mrs Mountfort, Mr and Mrs Richards, Mr and Mrs Uniacke, Mr and Mrs Young, Mr and Mrs W. D. Anderson, Mr and Mrs Porritt.
