Dear Bee, January 18. Here is another week almost gone, and still there t#e *o gaieties >to write you about. Bands from as tar South as Canterbury arc competing, as well as of tlie best North Bland'bitiiffs, the contest should be a grea.U treat.

Tennis is still in full swing, the courts being constantly frequented on account of the Inter-Club Tournament, which started this week. Last Saturday was an ideal day for tennis, and there was quite a large number at the courts. Mesdames Meek and Koch supplied the afternoon tea, which was a delicious one, and much enjoyed by the players and those looking on. Those 1 noticed on the grounds were: Mrs Koch, in a prettily embroidered white muslin blouse, black skirt, smart black and white hat; Mrs Basham, pale blue silk blouse, tucked and trimmed with Maltese lace, cream serge skirt, white hat; Mrs Meek, froek of blue and white cambric, sailor hat; Miss E. Capleu, white; Miss Koch, black, black hat; Miss Carey, Miss Alexander, Miss Cleary, Miso Bindon; Mrs Baird, black tailor-made gown, blaek hat, trimmed-. with feathers; Miss Williams (Christchurch), prettily trimmed white silk blouse, pleated brown skirt, brown hat, trimmed with roses; Miss .White, white silk blouse, flounced grey skirt, pretty- black hat; Miss Brett, white silk Jjlduse, cream canvas skirt, black hat; Miss Douglas, froek of pink linen, sailor hat; Miss Eva Baird, floral pink muslin blouse,-dark skirt, white hat; Miss Syme,, white blouse, black skirt,: sailor hat: Messrs Meek, Glenn, Storey, Chalmers, Kenny, Bayley, Buchanan, etc. • - ■ ENA. ■
