Dear Bee, October 21. The pupils of the Napier High School were favoured with delightful weather for their ANNUAL SPORTS, which took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Recreation Ground. A large number of visitors were present. Afternoon tea was given by Airs Polsoin. Amongst, the onlookers were Lady Campbell, who was wearing a smart costume of black voile, white silk vest, black toque with ospreys; Mrs Humphries was also in black; Aliss Humphries, cream eloth costume with gold buttons, white felt hat with heliotrope flowers; Aliss Ethel Humphries, pale green linen, the bodice trimmed with white lace insertion, white chip hat; Airs Pharazyn, slate grey cloth, grey feather boa, black velvet bonnet with phones; Airs Stedman wore a cherrycoloured gown, embroidered with gold; Mr* Hiddell, black voile, large and ba-

coming black hat, trimmed with rudied white chiffon; Airs De Lisle, pale grey; cloth, mueh tucked, and relieved with white silk, white hat with pale blue rosettes; Miss George White, tussore silk costume with rows of ecru insertion, run with pale green bebe ribbon* Mrs Edgar wore a blue costume and a becoming hat of white tulle and large piuk roses; Aliss Ditchings (Levin) looked well in soft white silk with a number of narrow flounces round tha edge of the skirt; Airs Westall, deep cream voile, relieved with pink, pink and white hat; Airs J. 1. Cato looked extremely well in a dark grey gown and a large black velvet picture hat; Airs W, Cato was beautifully dressed in sea green voile, embroidered with white silk, and a deep yoke of niched white chiffon, white toque with bunches of lilac; Airs Bradley wore black and white; Airs Cornford, navy blue dress with white lace on the bodice, blaek bonnet; Aliss Cornford’s pate green linen gown was also trimmed with white lace; Aliss Hunter, white drill coat and skirt, heliotrope toque; Aliss Nevill was in pink muslin; Aliss Hovell, red linen dress with yoke of string-coloured lace, large red hat to mateh; Miss Headley was in blue and white; Airs T. C. Aloore was daintily dressed in pale blue silk voila and blaek velvet bebe ribbon, cream chip toque with bows of pale blue silk; Aliss Locking, white muslin with rows of blaek and white embroidery round the skirt; Aliss Aladge Hindmarsh, cream dress, white hat with pale blue bows; Aliss Burke looked well in stringcoloured voile, chifl'on boa of the same colour, and black velvet hat; Aliss Dean was in white, and she wore a hat to match; Mrs A. A. Kennedy, blouse of white muslin and insertion, drill skirt, burnt straw hat with pale green ribbons; Airs Antill, blaek dress, relieved with white lace; Airs AlcLernon was
