The North Shore District Cricket Club opened their season on Saturday with a very suOdessful “At Home,” which was very largely attended by members and friends. The lady friends attended In strong force, and very kindly provided an abundant supply of good thlnga, which were

done full justice to. The club has had several Improvements effected to the pavilion and ground, including laying on the gas, and the ladies have very generously offered to supply afternoon tea throughout the season. About fifty membois took part in the two nuUches arranged for the afternoon, the principal one being a match. “Married v. Single,” which resulted, after a very interesting game, in a win for the single men by the narrow margin of five runs. Some really good ciicket was shown by several members, and it Is apparent that this club will have a successful season. WELLINGTON CRICKI.T. M ELLINGTON. 17th Ort. Moss 35>. met Wellington. 10 for no wickets. The best bowling feat of the. day was the taking of four wickets by R-dgrave (Phoenix) for eight runs.
