Dear Bee, October 7. After waiting some time without any music at all, we had TWO EXCELLENT CONCERTS last week, and we are looking forward with great pleasure to the Westminster Glee Party tiiis week. The Musical Union gave a miscellaneous concert on Thursday evening the the Canterbury Hall, which was filled in every part. It was mainly orchestral, and every item was charmingly played. The chorus sang some glees, one for ladies only being encored, and Miss Hausman made her debut with two very line songs, well sung. She has a full contralto voice of wide range, and, after getting ever her first nervousness, used it to great advantage. Miss Hausman was simply but gracefully gowned in white voile, trimmed with H miton lace. The following evening, at the same place, the Wanganui Garrison Band gave an excellent concert of their test pieces, assisted by Airs Burns and Air A. Millar, both being in good voice. On Sunday evening the band gave another concert, assisted by Air Alillar. and left for the South by the express on Monday morning.

The Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry are in ramp at Mr G. E. Rhodes’ estate, '‘Meadow bank,’’ Ellesmere, uf which corps he is lieutenant. THE FIRST SHOW of the United Korticultural Society took place on Monday and Tuesday, anil wiia a great success. proving that “unity is strength.’’ The Rev. R.
