H’ENiNG of the season MOUNT EDEN CLUB. The Mount E h*n Bowling Club opened gre- ii for ihe season on SamrJay afternoon, when there was a large ai:endand visitors from other clubs. Waite, sen., and W Wrathali: a silver cup. presented by Messrs Sk> .itos Bros.; and a pair of silver-moutte.l presentation bowls, presented by Mr T. lay lor. the well known Glasgow maker. The presid -nt announced that Mr E. Mahoney had presented a clock for the pavilion and Mr G. Garlick a garden seat. Subsequent to this announcement. Messrs G. Martin. McStay. Walton, Finlayson, and Rankin promise*! to give seats. The president’s team won by 243 points to ]SI. During rhe aftera «<»n. afternoon tea was handed round.

IL Kayes. IlaseJdcu. Veal*. Munson, Butler. G. Hat. her, B. Hatcher. W. Taylor, Rathbone, Fletcher, and Gwil Ham. The president eulogised the splrmlid and untiring services of the green superintendent. Mr J. Bouskiil. in preparing such a capital and true drawing green, and thiß was heartily endorsed by the players. The president’s wife, Mrs Hodgson, threw th.* jack across tiro green and declared the green open f r play. During the afternoon tea was dispensed by the Indies.
