HOCKEY.
A hoekey match was played on Saturday between the Kotiro and University Clubs on the latter’s field. Mr W. Hesketh refereed. The play
was very even. The Kotiros played a good defeuding game, having hard work to keep the ’Varsity from scoring a goal, the 'Varsity passing being exceedingly good. The game resulted in a draw, ijeither side scoring a goal. Afternoon tea was provided by the University girls. Amongst those present were Mrs Udy, in black silk skirt, black jacket and toque; Mrs Wilson, black, black bonnet with heliotrope; Mrs Metcalfe, black alpaca skirt, green jacket, black toque; Miss King, fawu coat and skirt, and fawn hat to match; Miss M. Frater, black skirt, fawn jacket, pretty blaek hat; Miss Faughey looked pretty in black and red; Miss Oxley, brown dress with silk, blue tbque; Miss Sheath, red dress, black hat; Miss Cnssen (Hamilton), black skirt, fawn jacket; Miss Pickmere, black dress, black hat with heliotrope; Miss Watkins, black, pretty fawn toque; Miss R. Goodall, grey costume; Miss Hay, black; Miss Peak, black skirt, red jacket; Miss M. Aitkin, black; Miss Stewart, black and red. The Kotiro team wore navy sailor blouses and blue caps; ’Varsity, white blouses and caps, pale bine and gold ties.
