Dear Bee, October 7. THE READING SOCIETY met in the institute on Friday evening and finished * The Merchant of Venice-’ As these readings seem to be more popular than when just one or two read, it is proposed to continue them, and * Hamlet ’isto be commenced next week. The readers this week were the Rev. A. H. and Mrs Sedgwick, Mrs Allen. Mrs Seely, Mr and Miss Howard. Misses Hay, Williams, Seymour, Thompson and Messrs Wilson and Seely. Others present were Misses Greensill (three), Williams. Scott, Seymour (two), Allen (two), etc. A SURPRISE SEWING BEE. with their supper and thimbles, went to the Vicarage on Monday evening to sew tents for the coming season of 'camping out.’ A good evening’s work was accomplished, and a pleasant time spent. Riddles were propounded, charades acted, and any amount of fun made time fly as fast as Angers. Supper, too, was an interesting function. Jban.
