CAMBRIDGE.

Dkar Bee, May 20. Again I have to chronicle a very pleasant SOCIAL, which was held in ‘Waterside,’ rhe present residence of Mrs Gibbons, of Onehunga, who I hear intends to spend the winter amongst us. The large dancing room was well filled, and the floor was in splendid order; indeed, there were one or two spills which only seemed to add to the enjoyment. Refreshments were handed round at 10 p.m., and dancing was kept up with unabated vigour till 2 a.m. As I know you like to hear how your absent friends looked on such occasions, I must try to remember some dresses of the ladies. As to the gentlemen, they are left com pletely out in the cold, having only the regulation black to wear. Mrs Gibbons presided at the piano most of the evening, being relieved occasionally by some of the ladies. Mrs Ward wore a handsome black silk dress ; Mrs Souter, black; Mrs Hally, also black silk; Miss Buckland, pretty grey dress with white trimmings; Miss Mandeno, blue blouse and black skirt: Miss Gwymeth, black ; Miss L.
