Dear Bee, May 30. I hear rumours and reports of measles all over the colony. The suburban schoolr here are not closed, and the attendance seems as good as usual. The weather is better, which will help to stay the epidemic. Socially, we are not in the least affected by it. AT FOOTBALL I noticed quite a smart crowd of womenkind, all eagerly watching the struggles of their men-folk over that horrid bit of leather. I go—because others go. but I don’t like it! Now for the frocks. Miss Wilkins was wearing navy serge with a white vest; and her sister, black, with white vest: Mrs Thorpe, black cashmere trimmed with black silk ; Miss Thorpe and her sister both wore neat-fitting black serges, small straw hats; Miss Rich looked very well, her gown consisted of grey plaid, hat en suite', and her sister, navy with brown fur; Miss Eva Rich, black braided cashmere ; Mrs D. B. Cruickshank. navy; Mrs Cotter, stylish black silk; and hef daughters wore becoming black cashmeres ; Misses Hooper, black cashmeres, white vests, grey hats with grey plaid ribbons; Mrs H.
