PARIS NOTES.
Parasols this season are very stylish trimmed with plain, Srinted, and embroidered chiffon. Another novelty is the ainty ‘ Marjorie ’ chiffon fichu, about a yard and threequarters long ; it is a great finish to a plain bodice. A fabric mnch in favour for morning and evening wear is popeline, which has a silky look. It is rather expensive though, costing in Paris 5s 3d to 7s 6d a yard. Ido not know what it will be in New Zealand. Another material to which I would like to call your attention, as being also much patronised by those who like to dress a la mode, is bengaline. It is also an expensive fabric, but very handsome. Black and cream tamboured lace scarfs are frequently seen, though it seems a pity to hide some of the very pretty bodices now worn. Still, for a white dress, where plainness is necessary, they add a dressy and modish touch, which would otherwise be frequently lacking. Hand-braided jackets will be much worn presently, and I should advise ladies with deft fingers to begin at once on some pretty design for their autumn wraps. Already Parisian ladies have downed theirs, and though we are far ahead of you in the seasons, yet even your warm weather will give place to cool days, when you will be glad you have your dainty jacket ready.
