NAPOLEON’S LOVE LETTERS.

Among the letters of the great Napoleon to be sold at auction at an early date will be his love letters to Josephine. This does seem very shocking, ‘but Napoleon,’ says Janies Payn, • had no heart. He did not even learn his speeches by heart, he read them out of a cocked hat.’ His very love letters prove that this part of his anatomy was missing, for we are told that though geneially begun by himself, some were actually finished by his secretary. This is alxnit the worst part of all, for as every engaged young lady knows, the wind up of her lover’s letter is generally far too sweet to be entrusted to any other hand to write. Sometimes she may lead part of the letter aloud, but the concluding words, never !
