GIMLET SOUP.
• »XE fine Saturday Willie went to visit his old nurse, ami it being a long walk, he wa- both tired and hungry when he got there. Nurse Brown had something c»»king on the stove which -melled oh : good to the hungry boy. and when the dinner was ready, it tasted just as gwd as it smelled. - 'What is this f he asked. • It's giblet soup.’ said Nurse Brown. •Do you like it r' She needn’t have asked, for the way Willie was eating it told the whole story. • It’- titrful good,* he said. ‘ burjsow did you make it !■’ •Oh ! 1 bought the giblet.- in the market, they eome al! strung together. It makes a cheap* soup, but weal! like it. When Willie was on his way home he bad to p<ass the market, so he went in and asked a dapper young elerk : ‘ Lk» you keep gimlets here t’ -This isn’t a hardware store, voung man.’ the clerk -aid. • Well, have you any gimlets all -trung together ready to Biikeoap ofl Nurse Brown -aid you kept em. ■ Nurse Brown must be mi-taken then.’ the young taan -ai*l. ami Willie went out disappointed. He told his mother about it w hen he got home, ami thongh the family all laugtie*! at the idea of gimlet soup, he still stuck to hi-'text until the next time his mother -aw Nurse Brown, when she found out about the matter.
