MOTOR RUN TO VICTORIA PARK

A delightful motor run to Victoria Park formed one of the many diversions provided for their guests during conference week by the medical men of Christchurch. The run took place on the Thursday afternoon. The weather was dull at starting, and owing to the dullness and condition of the roads the original plan of going to Kennedy's Bush was given up and Victoria Park chosen. Many of the visiting and

some of the resident doctors and their wives took part m the run— about twenty motors being required. At the foot of the Cashmere Hills the sun shone out and the ascent to the Park gates, where the motors were left, was most enjoyable. A short steep climb through the Park led to the top of the hill, where a most glorious view of the Canterbury plains and the city of Christchurch was obtained. Mr. Heaton Rhodes and Mrs. Clarke welcomed the party at the summit and the tea and fruit salad thoughtfully provided by them were much appreciated. After resting, some of the more adventurous of the party went on to Kennedy's bush as the weather was now fine. Others, less ambitious, contented themselves by returning to the city by a different route.
