Migratory Birds and Antarctic Fauna: Steps have been taken to bring before the notice of the international bodies concerned the need for agreement to protect birds in Antarctica from the menace of oil pollution and the possibility of destruction by dogs left behind by exploration parties. Consideration has also been asked for the protection of migratory birds during their long seasonal flights. Pukekos: Concern was expressed that in some districts where pukeko were once plentiful they are now rarely, and in some cases never, seen. The matter is to be raised again with the Wildlife Section of the Department of Internal Affairs. Native Plants Cup for School Competition: The Executive is to investigate the possibility of awarding cups for competition between schools for the best garden of native plants.
