Stolen.
Stolen, from a box in the dwelling of Mrs. Lee, Kaiapoi, three £lO Bank of New Zealand notes, numbers unknown. A girl named Bella Lyle, who lived some time with Mrs. Lee, suspected. She is about seventeen years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, auburn hair (worn plaited), grey eyes ; dressed in white straw hat, with blue ribbon, striped walking jacket, and lavender colour mohair dress. Still in Kaiapoi.
Stolen, from Akaroa, on the afternoon of the 16th ultimo, the property of C. Bridge, a black and tan English terrier, rather smooth-coated, nearly three months old ; had on a red leather collar, on which was a brass plate with the name of “ Ward” engraved thereon. The dog’s ears and tail are not cut. Some of the passengers per Comerang, from Lyttelton to Dunedin, having called at Akaroa, are suspected of stealing the dog, and taking it on board the steamer.
Stolen, on the sth ultimo, from a shop in High street, Christchurch, the property of N. J. Suckling, a pair of grain leather elastic-side boots. A man of the following description suspected . —An Irishman, 25 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout build, small sandy whiskers and beard, full, flat face; dressed in grey coat and light hat.
A saddle and bridle, described as under, was stolen from off a horse, which strayed from the White Hart Hotel, Christchurch, on the 22nd ultimo, the property of Edwin White :—A gentleman’s hogskin saddle, newly lined and stuffed; one of the knee pads patched. The bridle is a plain snaffle, and nearly new ; one of the straps broken at the buckle near the ear.
