£3OO REWARD.

Absconded from Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope, in May, 1866, James Powrie, Clerk, charged with embezzlement to the amount of £7,500, the moneys of his employers, Messrs. A. W. and "W. H. Eletcher, merchants, 13, Great St, Helen’s, London, and Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope. Description About 28 years of age, 6 feet or 6 feet 1 inch high, spare figure ; very dark brown hair, slight (dark) whiskers, beard and moustache, dark hazel eyes, deep set; gentlemaly style of dress ; speaks English perfectly, Dutch, German, &c. with a colonial accent. This is to give notice that the above reward of £3OO will be paid by Messrs. Eletcher as above to any pbrson who shall apprehend the said James Powrie in England, or in any of Her Majesty’s dependencies. A warrant having been granted for his apprehension in Great Britain, and endorsed by Her Majesty’s Secretary of State for the Home Department. Warrants have also been granted for his apprehension in any of Her Majesty’s Colonial possessions and endorsed by the Lord Mayor of London. Information to be given to Messrs. Eletcher, as above, to Inspector Hamilton, City Police Detective Office, 26, Old Jewry, E C., or to Messrs. Lewis and Lewis, 10, Ely Place, Holborn, Solictors for the prosecution. W. 11.
