STAFF I regret to record the death of Dr. R. B. Robb, who held the position of School Medical Officer, Auckland, for five years. Dr. Thos. J. Hughes retired after thirty-two years' service. Since 1920 Dr. Hughes filled with distinction the responsible position of Medical Officer of Health, Auckland. Mr. F. J. Fenton, Inspecting House Manager, and Mr. G. Laurenson, Architect, retired after long and valuable service in their respective spheres. Dr. Doris Gordon was appointed Director of Maternal and Infant Welfare, a position that has been vacant since the retirement of Dr. T. L. Paget in 1944. Dr. Gordon is well known for activities in the cause of infant and maternal welfare. In conclusion, I desire to express my thanks to the members of the staff for their loyal support during the past years. M. H. Watt, Director-General of Health.
