(a) Number of officers, 1. Travelling-allowances, £88 ; fares, £12 ; motor services, £4. (b) Travelling-expenses of Samoan party at Centennial Exhibition, £4 7s. 4d. (c) £7,500 provided for erection of factory for desiccating coconut in 1940-41, but no expenditure incurred ; £4,611 included in this year's estimates for that purpose. (d) Underexpenditure due to expenditure incurred in Samoa not being received in time for inclusion in year's accounts. Receipts for year ended 1940-41 amounted to £59,633, receipts for year ended 1941-42 estimated to amount to £64,166. (e) Overexpenditure recouped by increased receipts for sales of bananas. Receipts for 1940-41 amounted to £116,711, but some expenditure incurred in Samoa towards the end of the financial year was not received in time for inclusion in accounts. (/) Increased subsidy to Niue Island necessary to meet heavy expenditure for hurricane reparation.
